A really good way to show someone that you are interested in them and their daily life is to ask them the simple question: “How was your day?”
When you ask this question, you should expect a response. Likewise, when someone asks you this question, they probably want you to give them an answer.
Here are several ways that you could answer this question:
- “It was pretty good.”
A good, short response. It’s good all by itself, or you can tell your listener more about your great day.
- “I had a really great day!”
Best used when you have something wonderful to say about what happened during your day.
- “It was a crazy day!”
You can say this when you had anything really good, really bad, or really unexpected happen.
- “I had a really rough day.”
A good way to say that you have had a bad day. Your listener will usually ask you to explain, or you can add it to your sentence.
- “It could have been better” or “It could have been worse.”
If you didn’t have a really good day, or a really bad day, sometimes, you can just use this phrase.
